Almería half marathon 2009 - Sweder - 08-02-2009 El Gordo Wrote:Not sure why Sweder has posted a pic of a gargantuan tomato with some comedy glasses on it. Must be some sort of tribute to the punnet of said fruit in the Almeria goody bag...Hey! I resemble that remark . . . If you think that's rouged you should see me now, in the aftermath of the hottest, sweatiest pre 08:00 coast road 8k slog in history. Sweat City's got nothing on me. I may need a dip in the ocean to cool down, except - oh no! The bloody sea's like a bath  :p Cold showers all round :o Almería half marathon 2009 - ladyrunner - 08-02-2009 EG When we went to collect the parked car to drive up to the Mountain Run, we discovered two long black wing mirror scratches extending along the side of the whole back door and back panel. It didn't really set the mood for an enjoyable afternoon for me as I had been the one doing most of the driving and felt really bad incase I had caused them. And what didn't help was that the car was parked with that side on the pavement. On the way back Nigel and myself stopped off at a petrol station and bought the spainish equivalent of T-cut and a bag of polishing clothes. Sunday morning we spent 15 minutes in the sunshine removing the black marks which after a lot of group elbow grease had all disapeared with the exception of a few non-obvious scratches in the paintwork. 15 minutes of group t-cutting and 8 euros of equipment saved us alot of money on the car insurance excess. Phew And even better I've had no phone calls from the car hire company asking why the car now has scratches down one side Almería half marathon 2009 - suzieq - 11-02-2009 Great reports from everyone on Almeria. You made me feel like I was there...hopefully next year! Once again it seems like the wet, cold weather hits just in time for the race. Funny how that happens. But it obviously didn't hinder anyone's running as you all had great times. Next year you might have to let Molly Malone's know that you'll be in town and they can stock up on the Guinness. Suzie Almería half marathon 2009 - Antonio247 - 12-02-2009 Gracias, Suzie. It´s a pity you couldn´t come this year again. How´s your training for London marathon? Did you do that very long run? I hope you can come next year. Saludos desde Almería Antonio Almería half marathon 2009 - suzieq - 12-02-2009 I am going to plan to be there next year! The running is coming along; we only managed to run 31 km. that weekend - and it was tough. Once it was done though I felt just fine. We've had (including this weekend) two weekends of speed work in between and then we increase by another 4 km. Somehow I have to look at it as a challenge and one that I'm looking forward to (instead of dreading). But it will happen... Suzie Almería half marathon 2009 - Antonio247 - 13-02-2009 I´m very glad you feel well with your training in spite of how tough and demanding it is, Suzie. I´m sure you will succeed in the challenge in London. Best of luck! It will be great to meet you again here next year. Saludos desde Almería |
