Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006 - suzieq - 11-11-2005 I'm still undecided about coming over. All depends on how much of a bonus I get at the end of the year. The flight from London to Spain is cheap, but not quite as cheap to fly from here to London. And I am spending money on a resort property in BC, so ... That all said, if I can I'd love to come over again and run the Almeria half. I think I'm in better shape this year so would be fun to compare (or not). And, of course, fun to see everyone again - have a pint or two after the race. So I'll have to hang back for now and see what happens. If it all works, I'll slide in at the last moment. Suzie Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006 - El Gordo - 11-11-2005 Hi Suzie Great to hear from you. You've got a better excuse than most, so don't worry too much. It would be fab to see you over in Spain again, but if you can't make it, at least we'll get to see you in London in April. Do keep us informed. M says "Hi". Andy Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006 - Antonio247 - 11-11-2005 Hello, Andy I´ll be very glad if you finally can come to Almería. I´m sure we´ll have a good time and we could do the whole course together. It´s a pity that M couldn´t come as well. Hello. Suzie I´d be also very glad if you could come although I understand it is harder for you since you´re going to the London marathon in April. By the way, did you take part at Calgary marathon? How did it go? It would be wonderful if any other forumites could come here as well. Saludos desde Almería Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006 - suzieq - 16-11-2005 Antonio - just to answer your question. I didn't run the Calgary marathon this year. Was feeling quite lazy and didn't want to train that hard. My training is going good for London though - just ran a half last Sunday and everything felt good. But a half just can't compare to a whole - I have so much further to go! Suzie Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006 - Antonio247 - 17-11-2005 I´m gald you´re feeling well for the London marathon, Suzie. I haven´t taken part at a marathon this year either. Best wishes Antonio Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006 - suzieq - 17-11-2005 No Antonio, I haven't broken the two hour mark yet. Not sure if I ever will! Perhaps if I ran a flat course at sea level I could. But for now, that goal remains out there... Suzie Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006 - El Gordo - 25-11-2005 Right, decision time everyone. The prices of flights to Almeria have just GONE DOWN for a couple of days only. You can get a RETURN flight from London to Almeria over Half Marathon weekend for £29. Choice is between flying from Stansted on Saturday afternoon, returning Monday or Tuesday; or from Gatwick on Saturday morning, returning on Tuesday (no Monday return to Gatwick). So far, Sweder and I are up for it. Nigel is wavering and SP is bah-humbugging (Come on SP....) So. Anyone else out there who fancies a great weekend away in Southern Spain in late January? A good race, followed by a decent meal and a few glasses of beer and vino in the sushine. Come and join us. Either post a message here, or mail me privately at andy@runningcommentary.net if you want to make some non-committal enquiries.
