Reading Half Marathon - Sunday 6th March 2005 - Nigel - 06-12-2004 Hi Andy Yes, I've been injured, and testing out the champagne-and-ibuprofen diet recently (see my penultimate training diary entry). I'll spare you the details, but excluding a couple of brief but panicked dashes to the station on the way to work, I haven't actually run a step since the GSR. It's been frustrating, but I will certainly appreciate running all the more when I do eventually get back to it. Reading Half Marathon - Sunday 6th March 2005 - El Gordo - 06-12-2004 Sorry Nigel, of course, the Champagne and Ibuprofen regime. I did read about it at the time - it just seems like a long time ago. Sorry to hear that you're still immobile. It won't, I hope, affect your preparation for el día grande. Reading Half Marathon - Sunday 6th March 2005 - Antonio247 - 06-12-2004 Thank you, Brian, for your pieces of advice on my trip to Reading. I intend to spend Sunday night at Gatwick airport since my flight leaves too early on Monday and I don´t want to miss it. As far as the beer cask version I had no idea. I must reckon I´ve learnt a new word "cask". Anyway, after the half we´ll drink a pint or half a pint to your health over there.By the way, I´m listening to http://www.bbc.co.uk/england/radioberkshire/ these days while I´m using my computer so that I get used to the Berkshire accent. Nigel, I expect you get better soon. I´ve had a backache since Wednesday which has made me not take part at a half marahon in the northen part of the province of Almería today. Although I felt quite well last Saturday when I went for a 50 minute run at river Andarax, which is usually dry but it had some water that day since it has been raining a little this week around here. I could even hear the water falling down while I was jogging along the river bank. Well, good luck, everybody. Suerte a tod@s. |
