But, incredible.... One plenty sunny week and half an hour ago it is raining my God, I will step puddles like a child!!! isn't be great?! :p Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007 - Ana - 16-03-2007 andy Wrote:Well done Ana, sounds like you're pretty determined. Thanks a lot Andy for your allways inconditional warming! I will try to be able of meet the chachenge... double responsability: jogging and reporting what a crazy day!!! Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007 - lizoconnortalk21 - 02-07-2007 Dublin no longer a "plan" its a "reality"- registered on Friday, Race number is 4412!!!! They say respect the distance....i respect it all right...im terrified! Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007 - El Gordo - 02-07-2007 Well done Liz. People disagree about when a new runner should think about entering a marathon, but plenty of people do it in their first year. I did, and don't regret it. It was tough but very rewarding, and it got me running regularly, which was one of the objectives. In your posiiton, the only sensible aim is to finish the race. Don't bother thinking about time targets. Just get round. As I mentioned before, the important thing is to have some sort of plan. If your long runs are building up each week, you'll be OK. Aim to work up to at least one 20 miler, usually 3 weeks before the race. I'm doing Dublin too, so keep us posted. Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007 - Sweder - 02-07-2007 Good job Lizzie, both on the run and the report. Sticking to a pre-race plan is tough to do, so congratulations on that. Many of us so-called 'experienced' runners fail to do this, thinking for some reason we'll just run faster/ longer/ better because it's race day. We inevitably blow up cursing our misfortune instead of our indiscipline. Dublin will be tough but I'm with Andy on the 'marathon in your first year is a good idea' thing. I completed London four months after getting into running. It nearly finished me, but from those glowing embers of exhaustion a burning passion to improve arose and I haven't stopped running yet (if you catch my drift). Warning: you could get hooked! ps: tried posting a comment on your blog but I had to register for something first so I bailed. Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007 - lizoconnortalk21 - 25-01-2008 Hello all..... LOL Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007 - Sweder - 25-01-2008 Great news Lizzie - thanks for coming back to tell us about it. Any more runs lined up or has that just about slaked your thirst for running distance races? Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007 - lizoconnortalk21 - 25-01-2008 I intend to keep running, but I need new trainers first! lol Money's a bit tight at the moment for various reasons, but they are definitely on my to do list! Thinking about a 10k with my other half later in the year, but no plans as yet to tackle Dublin again any time soon.... |
