2007 - February - Mid Life Crisis Marathon Man - 23-02-2007 Seafront Plodder Wrote:Here's an unusual one. Well that was better than Andy's effort Jeez Andy, we need you back mate, and in good form. This "how I run a marathon" psychobabble bullshit just isn't the same. Come on, tell us about the lonesome cry of the curlew, serial murderers and train crashes again! Otherwise I might have to have a go meself, and I don't think SP will be very pleased. I only know character assasination 2007 - February - El Gordo - 24-02-2007 Sorry chaps. I'll get out there, but not this weekend. At least my sweat glands are in good form. I'm soaked. "There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro..." 2007 - February - Mid Life Crisis Marathon Man - 24-02-2007 Well take a hot toddy and get better Andy... hopefully you'll wake up healthier after a good sleep. Cheers mate. 2007 - February - El Gordo - 24-02-2007 Thanks cobber. I've been off the alcohol today but ENTIRELY FOR MEDICINAL PURPOSES, I suppose I could sample, er, ingest a spot of that Hine VSOP that's been sitting round since Christmas '05... Good night all. Appreciate the good wishes. 2007 - February - glaconman - 24-02-2007 Indeed. I've been laid low for what seems like weeks with an innccesant bloody cold. But I find the only thing that really gives me any benefit is a decent bottle of Almagnac. Right booze for the right occassion. That's all you need old boy. 2007 - February - El Gordo - 27-02-2007 glaconman Wrote:Indeed. I've been laid low for what seems like weeks with an innccesant bloody cold. Is that Wisden's Cricketer's Almagnac? 2007 - February - Seafront Plodder - 27-02-2007 Atlas(t) an entry. How very Sisyphusian of you Andy. 2007 - February - Sweder - 27-02-2007 Seafront Plodder Wrote:Atlas(t) an entry. How very Sisyphusian* of you Andy. That would have been more appropriate had Andy sought solace in Rolling Rock 2007 - February - Nigel - 27-02-2007 'That twiddly D chord'. Do you mean Dsus4 ? I'd agree with that one, definitely. Here comes the sun. Oh yes. 2007 - February - El Gordo - 27-02-2007 Nigel Wrote:'That twiddly D chord'. Well done, Nigel. I did wonder whether to spell it out, but decided I could rely on the cerebral nature of our community. Geeky note: It's actually just a D shape, played at the 7th fret, making it an A. 2007 - February - Nigel - 28-02-2007 Thanks for that. I learn something new every day around here. Although, admittedly, it's not always exactly what I'd expected to learn. But maybe that's why I'm here. Right then, I'll get me coat (as Sweder would certainly say). 2007 - February - stillwaddler - 28-02-2007 Hope you are feeling better Andy, I'm sure the Hine did the trick, did you try it with the two candles at the end of the bed cold cure method? Although I think that's supposed to work better with whisky ;-) Well, the big Five Oh, what can I say, except contrary to popular belief there really is life after 50 and if you're lucky it will still be bl***y good Have spent the last week in God's own Foresaken county - Norfolk ( apologies to any Flatlanders out there) so am only just catching up on things here at RC. (somebody has reminded me that I am supposed to be running a 10k on Sunday, but we won't dwell on it now):o 2007 - February - Mid Life Crisis Marathon Man - 01-03-2007 Fab entry Andy - I've copied that one into my "Best of RC" file. That's the one I read when I need motivation and the Rocky movies just aren't working for me anymore. 2007 - February - El Gordo - 01-03-2007 Hope it works for me too. I'm sure it will. I'm raring to go. Raring, I say.... RARING!!!!!!! 2007 - February - El Gordo - 01-03-2007 Seafront Plodder Wrote:Atlas(t) an entry. How very Sisyphusian of you Andy. Sisyphus, of course. I only just realised what you're on about. Odd, as I've invoked the fellow before. I'll change it. 2007 - February - Sweder - 01-03-2007 A most enjoyable and, if I may say so, upbeat post. I wish I could share your enthusiasm, but suspect I'm suffering from almost the exact opposite; too much running. Despite virtually a week off this week I'm lethargic, feeling heavy and none too positive about the weekend. It's an unusual place for me to be. Your post comes as a welcome zephyr of hope in a troubled time; I'll read it again in the wee small hours of Sunday morning. 2007 - February - stillwaddler - 02-03-2007 Best of luck for Sunday Sweder, you'll be fine by the time you get to the start. 2007 - February - Ana - 02-03-2007 Sweder Wrote:I wish I could share your enthusiasm, but suspect I'm suffering from almost the exact opposite; too much running. He wrote songs made famous by such lumineries as James Brown, Elvis, Nina Simone and co-wrote Love On The Rocks with Neil Diamond. He rests alongside some great singers/ poets/ innovators in the Père Lachaise Cemetery. I wonder what amazing conversations Monsieur Becaud would enjoy with Jim Morrison or with the Little Sparrow? Thank you, Ana. 'He who runs with the wind' - I like that very much. I shall indeed be 'running to other moons' on Sunday, and if my courage should desert me on those bleak and desperate hills I will recall this song, and with it summons my last reserves of strength. 2007 - February - Antonio247 - 02-03-2007 Best of luck on Sunday, Sw. By the way, what race are you taking part in? Greetings from Almería Antonio |
