If thoust be... - Seafront Plodder - 22-11-2006

Funnily enough, I was playing around with the letters in SWEDER HILLSIDE LOPER, and came up with ARSED FACED GOAT SHAGGER.

weird how that happens...Big Grin

If thoust be... - Mid Life Crisis Marathon Man - 10-12-2006

Sweder Wrote:Took the family to catch Casino Royale on Sunday night - thumbs up all round. I agree with GM - this bloke is much more the Bond I used to read about as a lad. Gritty, tough yet vulnerable, this Bond bleeds. Not once did he straighten his tie in mid-punch-up or emerge from a massacre un-ruffled and ready for dinner. It's a shame that the plot (such as it is) had to doff its' cap to the Bond-lite of yesteryear; more grit please, Mr Producer. You can never have enough grit. Personally I can live without the gags, but the presence of Craig alone bodes well for the future of the franchise.

I've just seen this and agree - this is perhaps the best Bond yet. The movie dragged on a bit too long for my liking, but it's worth seeing if only for the utterly incredible chase scene near the beginning. I'm not easily impressed, but this was a heart stopper! And DC is simply brilliant.

Bit hard to stomach them all playing hold 'em poker rather than baccarat though - can't help wondering if this isn't a bit of blatant advertising for the online and TV poker world.

Favourite lines would have to be these:

Bond (to barman after a nasty scare): Vodka martini.
Barman: Shaken or stirred?
Bond: Do I look as if I give a damn right now?
