Is anyone doing the Fleet half on the 20th March?

I thought that the title meant that you would be gauranteed a fast time?

Thanks for the advice re the injury I rested it and had massage it is my knees now that ache.

I don't have any plans to do Fleet, Plodder, though it's a good race. I'd better not chance a third half in successive weekends, and anyway, I have to increase my mileage after a bit of a dip.

I did Fleet in 2002. It was the race where I turned up late. I had to sprint for half a mile just to get to the start line, and got there to find no one there. They'd gone. So I had to chase them, including a long stretch along the High Street, being applauded and cheered ironically by the spectators who'd watched the rump of the field pass through a couple of minutes before.

But I did catch them in the end, and avoided finishing last which was my main concern.

A nice part of the world, and a friendly bunch. Just make sure you leave home in good time...
