Can the new boy play at bragging too...? - JP the Dream Chaser - 22-02-2005

Hi peeps

18.4 miles today. Should have done it on Sunday, but felt a bit ill. So pleased to have done it today. It's my longest run ever! I don't know how much bragging rights a new boy to the forum can have, but am I also allowed to say, a la Andy, "Get in!".

Cheers

JP

Absolutely! Get right in!
I'll have a Guinness for you tonight with t' Champions League highlights.
I've only managed 14 so far this year (missed a 16 10 days ago due to dodgy hamstring). Good on yer!

18.4? That was a bit mean, considering mine was 18.32.

Sorry Andy! I thought of you when I posted and it looks suspiciously like it was planned. But honestly, I looked at the GPS when I staggered in to the finish and there it was - 18.40. I actually thought I'd run bang on the 18, but it was more impressive than that! I dare say you'll be doing 18.42 soon so you'll have your crown back.

No worries, JP.

This weekend, the schedule says 20 miles but I could do with a step-back week. Thing is, the following two weeks after that are both half marathons, so I don't know what's best.

Time will tell...

Andy

I don't envy your decision. Do you keep up the stamina work or conserve yourself a little for the races? Not an easy choice.

I have a 20 mile race planned in England for Sunday week (Wymondham 20 in Norfolk, 6th March), so that'll be my first run of that distance ever. Until then I may do a 15 miler in between, but no further than that.

Good running mate
