Sunday jaunt 18.01.09 - Sweder - 19-01-2009

It does depend on the time of year as to what shoes to wear. Some of the regulars run in old road shoes. I prefer the Mizuno-style hybrid - not as extreme as a Walsh, with a little cushioning from the trademark Mizuno 'wave'. There's a lot of mud up there, plus some slippery flint/ rock that commands respect and stable footing in equal measure.

Personally I wouldn't tackle the inland trails in roadies. You'll end up wearing moon-boots.

i would go with Sweder and stick to the more cushioned trail shoes. 20 miles in a pair of Inov 8 or Walsh would kill your feet!Eek
