Man U vs Spurs yesterday - that goal - Seafront Plodder - 05-01-2005

Most of those watching the game would have seen that the ball clearly crossed the line and assumed that the officials made a howler.... They'd be wrong!

Recently revealed evidence now shows that the ref and his assistant actually made an excellent decision! See here...

The evidence!

It was probably the howler of the season - had this happened at the other end Fergie would have imploded. It raises the spectre of video replays, in which case we could devise a new sport - Stricly Come Premiership Dancing, with the game show panel offering scores out of 10 for such luminaries of the ballet stage as Christiano Ronaldo and Robert Pires.

The Roy Carol clanger was, if nothing else, very, very funny.

I love the picture - and I'm a ManU supporter, diabolical wasn't it, especially as Fergie had been blethering on about using video evidence the same day!! Just a shame it had to be Spurs that suffered, would have been mcuh better result against Arsenal!!!! ;-)

Agreed SW, although it was most amusing to listen to Arsene Whinger talking about Chelsea 'cracking' shortly before his gallant lads were held at Highbury by Man City.
Pip pip!

I'd love to see Arsenal win it, but Chelsea seem to have pretty much exchanged contracts on their purchase of the league and those other trophies. I'm just glad I had £100 on them at 4/1.
