I've just noticed a couple of things that I like. Next to posters' names in a thread is a little blob that lights up (bright green colour) when that person is in the forum.
Also like the new drop-down menus everywhere. And when you 'mouseover' the threads you get a preview of the message.
Any others?

The reason I prefer the older version is precisely because there is far too much to see with this newer one.
Options for this, ability to see that, aaarrgghhh!
Two things do me 'ed in. This version of vB, and people who use the word "functionality". {which is almost (but not quite) as bad as "turn-key".

Yeah, I've heard people complain about "functionality" before. I use it all the time in my job, so it's quite acceptable to me. What would you put in its place though? Can't think of a word that means quite the same.
