London 2005 - stillwaddler - 05-08-2004

Any of you entering?? I'm going to send off the entry form, but don't hold out much hope of getting a place - still that will mean I won't have to train for it :-)

London 2005 - El Gordo - 05-08-2004

I'll probably enter, and see what happens. Chances are, I believe about 1 in 5 or 1 in 6 of getting in on the ballot, which is quite reassuring. It would be a bit of a bummer to get in, wouldn't it...?

London 2005 - Yorkshire Plodder - 08-08-2004

If there's that little chance of getting in, I might even think of entering, but just my luck would probably get in on the first attempt! Big decision to make.

London 2005 - El Gordo - 08-08-2004

Might be best to forget to enclose your cheque, just in case your name does come out of the hat.

Of course, if you're successful, you can always defer for a year.

London 2005 - Yorkshire Plodder - 08-08-2004

It is pretty tempting to have a go but not sure whether I've got the concentration to be able to do a full marathon - after all it's going to be at least five hours of plodding along - have I got the patience to carry on for that long?! Doesn't it get really boring after the first few hours? If I could do it in 3 hours that would be a completely different matter - not much more than it takes me to do a half!
