What a hero this man is! Will he complete the challenge? Watching this guy on the news reminds me of that intrepid runner A Lynam Esq and his triple half marathon challenge in the spring.

What do you think of Ran Fiennes? Fool or hero?

I was at a dinner once where he was a guest speaker. I have to say he came across to me anyway as unbelievably arrogant.

I admire what the man has achieved, and as this latest stunt is for charity I think he should be applauded. (unless by some strange coincidence he has another book out) Sad

Interesting. Mind you, if I'd done what he's done, I'd be pretty chuffed with myself. Wouldn't want to appear arrogant though!

He's obviously exceptionally fit, strong, and mentally tough. In terms of the sheer physical effort, you have to admire/envy him. And yet there's something a bit gimmicky about this that I don't much like. Something strangely pointless about it all.

well he managed it and what an achievement, fairly even pace marathons throughout, at least none over 6 !

When i done the Clarendon way marathon 4 weeks ago, he and mike stroud opened (started)it and then ran it...i finished 3 places behind them, but i was trying, and i am sure for them it was merely a training run!!

what an inspiration though, never to give up!

I'm amazed by what the body can tolerate, physically and mentally. Is there nothing you cannot do if you put your mind to it.

...and i struggle to maintain an injury free 4 x a week, let alone 7 runs in seven days! Perhaps we never push ourselves to the limit because of the fear of failure.
