Marathon in Poland - suzieq - 23-10-2003

Andy - do you know the date of the marathon in Poland next April? I've applied to get into London again, but you never know. Would be good to have a back-up plan. And visiting Poland and other Eastern European countries has always held a fascination for me. If I do get into London, it's too bad you're not doing it, as it would've been good to meet the person behind all those interesting write-ups I read almost daily. Maybe in Poland??

And I commend you for getting up early and running! The good thing about doing it early - you're done for the day...and you feel good as well. Even though I live in Canada, I still don't like the cold and am not looking forward to a whole winter of cold running. But somehow one always seems to get around...

Marathon in Poland - El Gordo - 23-10-2003

Hi again Suzie

The Wroclaw marathon is on April 25th. I think London is the weekend before that one.

If you get a place in London, we could still meet up to say hello. I work in London. If you need any help or advice, let us know.

I hate gong out in the cold to run, but once I've warmed up a little I think it's wonderful. As I said, there's something kind of surreal about running round half naked when everyone else is clumping about like astronauts walking on the moon.

And getting back into the warm is lovely too. It's just those first few minutes that are painful....

Let us know how your London application goes. It's supposed to be easier for overseas entrants than it is for us in the ballot.

Andy

I'll keep you posted on the London marathon - and at any rate, would be great to meet for a beer whether I'm running it or not. If I end up doing the one in Poland, I'll still fly to London (as I love spending time in London, there's so much history and I find it just a wonderful city!) so let's keep in contact on this and see what happens.
