I'm not an iphone user, so what's an RC Forum app? I have a Blackberry for work, and can see the forum through the browser, and post. Can you not do that on an iphone?

Yes, can in usual browser mode. Some sites (BBC, Facebook) run editions for smaller screens. Was asked tongue firmly in cheek but if someone has access to the software it cd be fun.

Sent fm my iPhone in gloomy Glasgee

Well, let me see if there's something available that we can adapt.

Well, there's all sorts of things you could do: use the GPS thingy to find forum members near you was my first thought.

RE: IPhone Apps - El Gordo - 13-10-2009

I checked the mybb forum. There are one or two discussions about iphone apps, with people in various stages of app development, but nothing concrete seems available just yet.

Actually I wasn't thinking that far ahead, more along the lines of a phone (iPhone) friendly display format for the forum. Try saying that after six pints of Guinness. I wasn't convinced it would be terribly easy but there again everything IT-based seems to blow my mind ...

Boom

Thanks.

What are these EG? Philip K Dickian semi-sentient remotes that pick up a theme of a thread to create half-coherent posts? Not sure I get the purpose ... unless it's simply to lure dummies like me into a response.

Oh ... Blush

It's all to do with what the bot has in its mail signature. THis is a simple way of determining if it's spam or not. In this case there is (or was, before I deleted the post) a link to "memory cards". It's not that they expect people to click on the link and buy memory cards, but the existence of the link will get picked up by Google and other search engine bots, and push them up search engine rankings. It's a filthy business. I'll delete the 'user' when I get a minute.

I'll say. Infiltrating our site with a stupid bot just to boost their Google ranking? Those bastards will be the first up against the wall when the reveloution comes, I can assure you of that.

Angry

The same things too, I am wondering.
