A trip to Holland plus Rotterdam Marathon - ladyrunner - 06-12-2010

I've just been reading about Sweder's training run at the Amsterdam Bos with Cloggie, and I thought that I would go public with my plans for Easter.

I stayed at the Het Amsterdamse Bos camping which is in the South corner of the Amsterdam Bos when I went to the Amsterdam Marathon in October. I didn't get time to explore the city other than cycle through the Bos to and from the race and a stroll in the Bos before driving home on the Monday.

The Amsterdam Bos looked such a lovely place that I'm planning on returning to Holland for a week in April with the teenagers for some cycling around the city and running/walking in the Bos. I'm also considering combining the trip with an entry to the Rotterdam Marathon for the first weekend of my holiday, before heading on to Amsterdam for 4 or 5 days.

If anyone is interested and they have a motorhome, campervan or caravan let me know???

Provisional dates 8th to 16th of April 2011 with the marathon on 11th April (same day as Brighton I think).

It sounds fantastic, Julie. Unfortunately, I won´t be able to go.

I´ve seen that you´re going to take part at the Spanish race walking championship in March. Where is it and when?

Hola, Julie

Veo que has progresado bastante en tu español. ¡Enhorabuena!
I can see that you´ve progressed quite a lot in your Spanish. Congratulations!

La verdad es que la marcha me parece más difícil que correr ya que la técnica es muy complicada.

The truth is that race walking seems to me more difficult than running since the technique is more complicated.

Thanks for the good luck wishes.

If I can't get any wifi in Holland post marathon I'll text Sweder to let him know how it goes. The plan is run 2k walk 1 minute (every 2k). or run 1 mile walk 45 seconds (every mile). Depending on what distance marchers there are around the course.
