An apology - El Gordo - 30-06-2012 Sorry, friends. Time to show a bit more respect. Second half of the year starts tomorrow. An update, which probably isn't the same as the last imminent update, is in gestation. Tomorrow I will write it and post it. If thus be error and upon me proved, I never writ, and no man ever.... RE: An apology - El Gordo - 01-07-2012 Written some stuff. Needs a next-day sanity scan, which it is certain to fail. RE: An apology - marathondan - 04-07-2012 I heard on the radio this morning that a legendary folk guitarist and writer has finally released some new material after years living as a reclusive expat. This material was eagerly awaited by his fans, as he hasn't published any output for many years. Just sayin'. RE: An apology - El Gordo - 04-07-2012 Nearly there. The word dump has occurred. I'm just trying to work out how to make it faintly interesting. RE: An apology - stillwaddler - 20-07-2012 (04-07-2012, 07:26 PM)El Gordo Wrote: Nearly there. The word dump has occurred. We're all friends here, after all. I'm trying to talk about a period of only a week or so back in May. It's done, actually. And has been for ages. Sort of. I keep trying to work out what it's all about though. And I added a few pics today. Was just about to hit 'publish' early this evening but had to deal with an emergency when I discovered my red cabbage was going a bit mushy. By the time I'd made my massive bowl of salad for the week ahead plus the even more massive pot of veggie soup, I had to fly off to Zug to see Batman Begins, which I missed first time around. Back there again tomorrow for the second part, and am catching the new movie on Wednesday. Er, anyway. Huge bowls of salad and veg soup will give some clue to where I am at the moment. Just finished third week of my usual low-crap / no alcohol diet. Feeling good. Things are looking up. Feelin' well groovy. If deducing the answer to that particular question is what's holding you up, we hadn't better hold our breath! It's what we're all trying to work out... Might be fun to throw it up (if you'll pardon the expression) and see if anyone here can work out what it's all about? Relax, safe in the knowledge that, however terrible you feel it is (and it won't be), it could never be as skin-crawlingly embarassing as the ubiquitous Fifty Shades of Crap. Speaking of which ... Do you mean work out: a) what EG's new post might be about b) work out what EG's entire blog is all about c) work out what life ("it") is all about? Clearly c) is the simplest here - I think we're all agreed that the journey is more important than the destination, and if in doubt, running is the answer, right? Btw, I was up in the arable flatlands of the Fens at the weekend, visiting the folks. I saw Fifty Sheds of Grain. Bollocks, I've just eaten a whole packet of chocolate digestives. Er, unless it was in reference to Susan Jane Gilman's piece on vasectomies on Easyjet flights, um, no. Sorry! RE: An apology - El Gordo - 14-08-2012 There was "an original plum pun"? Sheesh, I'm losing my marbles, just like the big man from Down Under. ---------------------- So. And where d'you think YOU'RE going...? Er, out. Out? OUT? Doing what? Er, plum pun hunting, mum. Hmm. Hmmm. Well OK then. Make sure you're back by 2016. You won't want to miss the Rio opening ceremony [sigh] No mum..... ---------------------- |
