RE: De qué hablo cuando hablo de correr... - glaconman - 13-03-2013 Glad you've thrown your hat in the ring for this one BB WHat a great start to the running year. Are the courses fully marshalled? Or is there some map reading and navigation required? RE: De qué hablo cuando hablo de correr... - Bierzo Baggie - 14-03-2013 The route is marked by strips of tape tied to branches, rocks etc.. Difficult to get lost, especially when you're near the back of the field like me Looks like we'll be following snowprints on Sunday anyway. RE: De qué hablo cuando hablo de correr... - Bierzo Baggie - 16-03-2013 Went up to Santa Cruz this afternoon with Bulgarian Pete. Collected race number and had a sniff about. There were already a few tents and a few camper vans and there'll be a few more tomorrow. I even noticed the smell of spliff... With apologies to the renowned Canadian trail runner Joni Mitchell I came upon a child of God He was walking along the road And I asked him, "Where are you going?" And this he told me... I'm going on down to Santa Cruz, I'm gonna run the Alto Sil. I'm gonna camp out on the land. I'm gonna wear my minimalist shoes. We are stardust. We are golden. And we've got to get ourselves back to the river. Then can I walk beside you? I have come here to lose the smog, And I feel to be a cog in something turning. Well maybe it is just the time of year, Or maybe it's the time of man. I don't know who I am, But you know life is for learning. We are stardust. We are golden. And we've got to get ourselves back to the river. By the time we got to Santa Cruz, We were half a hundred strong And Everywhere there was song and celebration. And I dreamed I saw the bombers Riding shotgun in the sky, And they were turning into butterflies Above our nation. We are stardust. Billion year old carbon. We are golden.. Caught in the devil's bargain And we've got to get ourselves back to the river. (To some semblance of a river.) RE: De qué hablo cuando hablo de correr... - Bierzo Baggie - 18-03-2013 Sunday's happening was a slipping, sliding, freeze yer toes off festival of ice n' slush. The participants were more Robocop than Catweazle and there was the mother of all paellas at the end. I'll write a proper race report once I get me brain back ... it might be a while. https://picasaweb.google.com/bierzobaggie/VAltoSilMarch2013 RE: De qué hablo cuando hablo de correr... - Mid Life Crisis Marathon Man - 18-03-2013 (18-03-2013, 10:19 PM)Bierzo Baggie Wrote: The participants were more Robocop than Catweazle... That's a curious turn of phrase, BB! Looking forward to the race report! RE: De qué hablo cuando hablo de correr... - marathondan - 19-03-2013 Looks truly epic, BB. And that's just the paella. Looks like you had relatively pleasant conditions, if you don't mind a bit of snow (and if you did, why would you do the race?). Looking forward to hearing more. |
