RE: January 2012
Sometimes it can be the friendly dogs that cause you grief. I was once accompanied by a friendly dog on a beach run - it happily ran alongside me just for the fun of it for quite some time. Unfortunately it then spotted its owner and cut directly in front of me to get to her, tripping me up and sending me face first into the sand.

Lucky it was only sand and not some rotten stoney track at night with owls waiting to rip at your flesh and ghost dogs that sit on you and smother you to death (as they do. Apparently).

You like to live dangerously, don't you?
Run. Just run.

One thing the tracks aren't is stoney - as witnessed by my efforts to run them barefoot at night (now rather forgotten, as I concentrate on my training plan). I'm more likely to land face first in a horse turd. Which is at least soft. Unless it's frozen. Hmm, which would be better, soft or frozen?

I would be thankful it came out of a horse rather than a dog. Soft or frozen.

Yuck. I think I'll switch to stamp collecting.
Run. Just run.
