March melancholy
Thus far, March has provided very little running-related news to report. I have however spent a few days in my home town of Hobart, visiting my father and brother, and enduring Tasmania's English-like climate, i.e. cold, damp, windy, gloomy. And then there's the nine months of winter Eek

Naturally, whilst there, I checked out possible running routes. This wasn't so much for the purpose of running whilst there, but for later use, as one other primary purpose for visiting was the offer of work, which materialised to a more-or-less greater degree, and now has a high chance of probability, which means I could be shifting down there for a few weeks or months from as soon as next week.

There are already a few very promising running sites, and I was even pleased to find some nice flat ones, which is rare as Hobart is a very hilly, nay, mountainous region, as you can see from the attached photo, which was taken from the balcony of my brother's house - he really does have a million dollar view: a west-facing view of mountain, river and city; just stunning.

But as for running whlilst there over the last few days, well I'm afraid it was out of the question due mainly to a kind of post-prandial Jamesons-induced soporific bliss which for reasons that escape me, seemed to over-take me each evening Rolleyes

But I think the break will have done my shins the world of good in any case, and I am looking forward to hitting the pavements again... tomorrow.

Congrats by the way, to the many of you who successfully ran the Reading Half. Looks like you're all a league of champions... injury-riddled perhaps, but champs none-the-less. Well done all Smile

This photo by the way, was taken on an earlier visit - I didn't actually get to see the mountain this trip due to the incessant cloud cover (and associated rain)...
