Some tremendous ground work there, MLCMMan, good on you.
I hope to catch up next week, though sat in the middle of a two week break from exercise I feel slothful and fat.

The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph

Yes, cheers Sweder, doubtless when you get going you'll make good any lost ground in no time. There's still a few weeks in which you can find some form, so stop messing around with your helicopters and hop to it.

I've a bad sort of run to report, as it happens, although given the conditions it wasn't exactly a disaster. After one of the dreaded night shifts, a fitful asleep and temperatures nudging 30C, I attempted one of my tempo sessions, but had to throw in the towel after just 6km. Apart from being tired and hot, I was shaking with fatigue (probably on account of the fact that my last meal was 15 hours prior), so I called it quits before I passed out and went instead for some sustenance, which was a whole lot more pleasant, it must be said.

I'm not too concerned - it would be have been easy to justify not running at all, so a solid half hour's work was fair enough.

And that's about it for today. Hmm.

6.0km 34mins.

YTD: 920.1km
Run. Just run.

At least you were smart enough to call it quits before you really did a number on your body. You can only push it so far before it'll start hitting back, so take care of yourself. We want you at the start line feeling good!

That's sound advice, Suzie. All of us work, and that means we have to fit running in as and when.
Those darned helicopters help to pay the rent, not to mention one or two travel expenses. That falls apart somewhat when one slips in a cheeky trip to Tokyo two weeks before race day. Ahem.

Getting to the start line well enough to run the thing is the prime target.
Everything else is a bonus. Keep going my friend!

The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph
