Is anyone doing the - once every hundred year Hastings Marathon? I'm realy keen to beat my last outing in this race.

Howdy Rog-Air, hearty congratulations on your sub-4. Kind of you to leave me with a minute's grace but knowing you as I do you probably stopped to help some poor soul along the way Wink

I spent a wonderful day cheering Team JDRF at the FLM - what a fine collection of heroes. I'm now Charles Aznovoice but still grinning like a loon.

Not sure about the Hasting 100 - it's a possibility but with Bombay in January it might be asking a lot of my poor busted bones. Definitely planning to keep up the Sunday outings, though maybe only bi-monthly. Watch this space!

Hi all once i've recovered from my London nightmare, Sunday morning on the Downs will again become a regular run, i know Gary is keen to carry on.
My calf went at 2 miles and i had to dig deep to finish. Well done to everyone who took part especially the jsj 1st timers

Wow, 24 miles on a dodgy calf is some going, well done Steve.

And congratulations to all those who raised a shed load for JDRF.

Hail Stevio! Sorry to hear the calf gave out - I know it was a big worry in the weeks beforehand. Good on you for battling through - hope you haven't totalled the leg Eek

I'll be out on Sundays now and again. Brussels half looms in May so have to keep my hand (foot) in. Oddly enough I've got double calf-knack from London - caused by balancing in the footings of the railings for eight hours! I'm off for some chinese cup torture next week - lovely!

Any news to share on the other JSJers?
I saw Cynthia - she gave us a wave and a lovely smile as she cruised past our supporter zone at 22.5 looking horribly fresh and loving every minute of it. Spotted Yoda (Sam) riding in the back of the timing truck in front of the lead women. It's a tough job . . .

I saw Cynthia Sunday night at the Heist marathon party but i must admit due to excessive Guiness intake i can't remember her time but she loved it and was in good form. As for the others new guy Mark Price ( dark guy baggie joggers ) clocked an amazing 3:10 , one of the young girls can't remember her name did 3:35 all in all a fantastic effort by everone .Basically Sam and Tony yet again did a great job. My sympathy goes to Luke who struggled home in over 5 hours with a dodgy knee good effort.

Hi Rog,
Many congratulations on a sub four PB.

I am interested in the Hasting Marathon in December and am in the process of trying to convince others of the merits of it

Yo I'm up for Hastings Marathon - hopeing to beat my pb!! But the shiney thing does it for me. Others from HH say they will be there too. We are currently forming a team at Horsham.
Before that there's Seaford & Bewl. But what I could really could do with some help with is the Relay for Life 31/05/08. So please don't be shy - the HH will provide food and there's plenty going on to keep families and Tina's happy so bring a tent or crash in ours. We have to have a person on the track for 24hrs - its a 2mile circuit - all night owls come for the hoot. its in aid of CRUK. and its a Brighton 1st.

Hi Rog

I would gladly do an hour for your relay. I did 1 last year for Richard Carter at Stanmer park, the loop was only 300m though, this sounds a bit more interesting.

Cheers
MM

PS Will probably do Beachy Head again, so Hastings might be doubtful, or I could enter both, eh! 6 week recovery should be sufficient.

I can volunteer to run one or two times, but won't be able to arrive until after my son's football tournament which will finish at Eastbourne at about 6pm. Will be able to bring my motorhome along to sleep in and the kids will have to tag along.

Where abouts is the event being held, and what time does it start?

Sweder - Entries on the day for Three Forts Half still available (about 300 of them) - just trying to sort out childcare now.
