Cooper's played golf for some time. He used to play of six - a more than respectable effort. I recall him taking part in A Round With Aliss (Peter Aliss, the beeb's very own silk-and-honey-voiced golf commentator) on the telly where he explained his obsession with the game and how he found it through his (ultimately successful) attempts to beat the booze.

I enjoy listening to AC on PR. His erudite commentaries on contemporary and classic rock are always entertaining. His knowledge of music and ability to pluck and endless supply of anecdotes out of the ether appears effortless.

There was I worried 'we' wouldn't be able to bat out two days to save the second test against India when blow me down I checked the BBC website for an update after lunch. That'll put the fear of God into them Aussies

My fifth run in six days and I feel . . . invigorated.
Another leisurely trot, this time bang-on 48 minutes. More blue skies, more glorious early morning sunshine. I passed Maria and her two spaniels as they flew off the hill to end their even earlier session. Perspiration glistened on Maria's shoulders and exposed midriff, her broad smile gleaming white in the string sunlight.
'Lovely day for it!' she called as they sped past.
Indeed.

More good music from Mr Poison. Great to hear Edgar Winter's Frankenstein again. Legend has it that Winter, an albino saxophonist best known for his work in jazz, laced several pieces of music together to create the track, hence the unusual title. Track du jour was a Bob Seger classic, Turn The Page, on this occasion covered by those renowned Dutch rockers Golden Earring. GE will always be synonymous with their one classic tune, Radar Love. No radar needed to navigate this well-worn trail, yet still it feels as fresh as the first time I ran it.
