That's what I'm afraid of. Oh well.
Sadly Divine Intervention does not extend to internet connections in Arboleas. Just enough time to say yes, Antonio and I are traveling back together on Saturday morning. I'm hoping to meet him in Molly's tomorrow evening for a cheeky livener.

I think you are prepared enough to do Brighton marathon next Sunday, S.
It will be fantastic to meet at Molly´s tomorrow. Do you mean on Thursday or on Friday? Anyway, I´m going to Huércal-Overa tomorrow morning. If it suits you better, we could have a drink in the Arboleas area by 2:30 pm as well.
I hope you all are having a good time in my province.
We are staying just outside Arboleas. However tomorrow (today by the time my dial-up connection allows me to post this - on Thursday, to be clear) we will go to the National Park - not Cabe de Gata this time but the the northern end (near Mojacar) to explore the mountains and beaches there. Afterwards we plan to swing by Little Hollywood to the north of Almeria, then into town for drinks and supper.
I think we'll be in Almeria city centre from around 6pm onwards. I plan to pop into Molly's for a beer somwtime after that. The girls want to go shopping - Shayne and Phoebe are with me, plus Phoebe's friend Becca. If that works for you, or if later is better, let me know. We will probably eat at the Pasta place near the foot of La Ramblas (after they open at 8 of course).
Hope to see you later today (Thursday). Friday we are meeting some of Shayne's family back in Los Carrascos.

I´ve got an Italian lesson at 6 pm ending at 8 pm. So, We could meet later after you have had dinner at Tagliatella´s.
If you can, I advise you to go from Mojácar to Carboneras along the coast. The views are great. If you have time, you shouldn´t miss Playa de los Muertos between Carboneras and Aguamarga. You will also like this small town.
Have a wonderful time!

Excellent, we will meet up after dinner then
Thanks for the tip, we will take that coastal trip on Friday morning. Today we're going to travel inland to Almeria, through the mountains to Tahal and on to Tabernas and Pechina, stopping off for cafe con leche and churros along the way.

Fantastic! Have a good time and hope you have enjoyed the café con leche and churros.
Whether you’re fast or whether you’re slow,
it doesn’t really matter you know.
You’ll entertain us,
you’ll enthrall us,
and I’m sure you’ll enlighten,
us all with your tales of that marathon in Brighton.
Sweder, hammer it out as only you know how. Remember Two Oceans, Connemara, Steyning, Point to Pinnacle. And I'm sure your spirit guide will be with you as well. Good luck for sub 4, I really think you can do it.
Yes, good luck. Will look for you at start...you'll be easy to spot at the finish, as you'll be the one being poured pint after pint of Harvey's by your good lady. Alas, Mrs R is less attentive.

Wow -- well, here's hoping you get through those miles with, er, plenty of smiles. [Right back atcha, BB.]
Actually BB, I have a bone to pick with you. We needed those 3 points more than you today. Be a bit more considerate next time, fella. And let's hope there is a next time. Just now it isn't looking too good.
But back to the main event. Look forward to hearing the war stories from both Sweder and Antonio. ANd Tom too. I'm so rarely on Twitter these days that I'd forgotten Tom was in. Good luck to all you stout-hearted, or merely stout, fellows.

Great things are done when men and mountains meet.
Well done Sweder on a fanastic run. Photo attached to prove that it was him that actually ran - he did not hand over his number to an elite runner. Running here with Moyleman's sister Cam.
In the pub, crippled, last two miles were purgatory. Not sure in chip time/ Garmin discrepancy. Watch shows 26.22 03:47:45 but hey, whatever. I have a BEER in my hand and another on route. No-one can take that away from me (except at this moment just about anyone could as I'd be unable to chase them).
I'll need to ponder the day before knocking out a report. There was much to be happy about and some extremely dark moments, that much is certain.
Huge congrats to Moylebird too. Subject to enquiries she bagged a sub 3:45.
Fabulous effort.

Hearty congrats to all runners, and particularly those with RC-connections. Enjoy the very well-deserved beer.
The "extremely dark moments" do not sound like good news. Hope this isn't the start of an injury. The Hal Higdon post-race prescription is 1 day of rest for every mile run. Mine is one pint of decent ale to be consumed for every mile run -- task to be completed within 7 days. Thereafter, reduce intake by 25% per week until activity begins again.
Looking forward to the report, but no hurry. Maybe leave it a few days to see how the purgatory pans out? Either way. a tremendous achievement -- and by Moylebird too. Just checked the results and I see that Tom Roper powered home well within 5 hours, so another pat on the back there too.

Thanks lads. I prefer the El Gordo way to the mean-spirited and unworkable Higdon dogma.
The dark moments may indeed herald the arrival of something long-term ... or they might just be payback for attacking a fearful distance with insufficient training at reckless speed. Whichever it turns out to be I'll get over it. I now have a decision to make about these particular outings. Like the race report I'll let that stew for a bit before making anything public.
For now it's over to Dan the Man and that hot date with the serpentine streets of London. I'll be there too, stationed as always at Mile 22-and-a-bit, sounding the trumpet for a record-breaking 190 JDRF runners, including 29 with type 1 diabetes, a world record I believe. We'll count them all out and count them all back again, even if I have to stand there for nine will-sapping hours to do so ....
Bring it on.
