RE: Training's fust in August.
Greetings from Mellow Melbourne. Touched down a little after 5am. I've just bagged the second meeting of the morning and it's not yet 9am. Brutal.

How I wish you could have seen me dragging my weary bones up Mount Caburn on Sunday (yesterday? how is this Tueaday??) morning. You'd be a lot less worried about your own form, and certainly not as quick to assign me such a fabulous track. I was all-in way before the two hours were up. I agree, there's much work to be done. So much so that, seeing as my room isn't ready, I'm heading straight for the gym after my Chai Masala.

The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph

Crisis in Crisis Town!
Gadzooks! It finally happened - I broke the back of my treadmill (the supposedly unbreakable bit). Just over 6 kilometres into my hill climb today the end of the deck support frame (the bit that elevates to give the slope and which was until today a very solid piece of steel) just kinda sorta went "gnnnrgggzzzkrjj" and then "CRAAAAAAAAACK" and everything went "BLLLLLLLeeeeeaaaah...." and stopped.

So now it's the sorry game of determining if it can it be welded back together and if so, whether or not it's worth doing.

Nuts.

6.12km 39 minutes Ave slope: 6.3%

YTD: 796.8km

Track du jour: None - it's all too sad. Well OK, maybe this one...

Sad

Run. Just run.

Well 6.3% was impressive!

I hope this isn't an indication of the weight you put on on holiday! You know, like the speak your weight machine that says "one person at a time, please".

Hope the surgery is possible. Wouldn't want to lose such a long time training buddy.
