Almería half marathon 2014
I phoned the organisers this morning and I've been told that the half marathon will be held on 2nd February next year. Although the website is not in operation yet, the date appears in the Spanish Athletics federation website.
Cam sent me a message this mornig telling me she'd like to come. I`ll be very glad to meet all of you who can come and I'm sure we all will have a good time. I'll do all I can to train well and lose some weight in order to do the half marathon under two hours at last.
Greetings from Almería Saludos desde Almería

RE: Almería half marathon 2014
I sincerely hope I'm able to come along for my 10th edition of this excellent race.
It will be quite close to the Lewes Marathon - probably going to be 18 or 25 February - but the good news is I should be fit.
The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph

How fast time goes by! I hope you'll be able to come and take part in your tenth consecutive half marathon in Almería, S. We'll have a special celebration because you deserve it.
I'm sure you'll be very fit after doing the toughest half marathon in the world in Tasmania and training for the Lewes marathon, which will be a very beautiful and tough one. I'd love to take part in it one year.

RE: Almería half marathon 2014
As you know, Almería half marathon will be held on 2nd February 2014. The entries are open from today. This year there will be a half marathon race and a 9 km race. However, this year the half marathon course will have just one lap going along many parts of Almería. The start and the finish will be next to the Mediterranean games stadium.
This year the entry fee for the half marathon is 15 €. You can add 5 euro to help ARGAR, which is an association of parents of children and teenagers with cancer. In that case, you get an additional technical T-shirt of that association that you can wear at the race to support it. The 9 km race fee is 8 euro and you can add 5 euro as well for ARGAR.
As a gift for taking part in the race you can choose ONE item from these:
_ a long-sleeve technical T-shirt
_ a sports bag
_ a short sleeve T-shirt for men + a cap
_ a short sleeve T-shirt for women + a cap
_ a short sleeve T-shirt for men + a small microfibre towel
_ a short sleeve T-shirt for women + a small microfibre towel
_ a singlet for men + a cap
_ a singlet for men + a small microfibre towel.
_ Running shorts for men
_ Short tights for women

If you need any help, I’d be very glad to help you all.
It would be great if you could come. As Christsmas is nearly here, I’d also like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year.

It's a pity that I couldn't go to Australia this year and that you can't come here next year, MLCMM. Hopefully one year I'll be able to go there and/or you'll be able to come here.

Those are wonderful pieces of news, EG and S. Hope you're better from your herniated disc and had a wonderful Christmas, EG? Are you both coming via Gatwick airport too? What hotel did you book?
Looking forward to meeting all of you at the airport on Saturday 1st February.

RE: Almería half marathon 2014
Hola, amigos
EG, La Encina restaurant is owned by the same people who had the other one, Plaza de Cañas, which is the one you went to in 2012. Unfortunately, it was shut down but La Encina is very similar and as S. says it is good value. I like the place and the dishes are quite good.
The restaurant we went in year 3 is at the sea front. It is called "The Star building" It is more a bar than a restaurant. I think La Encina is better value.
