Half Marathon in Spain
To the Half marathon group:

I'm flying into London on Tuesday (leaving here Monday night) so I thought I better make somewhat of a plan on how we're going to meet up at the airport on Saturday. Perhaps it won't be hard to recognize a group of runners, but just in case...does anyone have some ideas? (I don't plan on waving a Canadian flag!)

Hi Suzie. Where will you be between Tuesday and Saturday? Stansted airport is quite a way out of London. If it's feasible, it might be an idea to meet somewhere and I can give you a lift to the airport. Alternatively, you could get a train from central London (I think it's Liverpool Street station, but this needs to be confirmed) to the airport, where we can arrange a meeting. Drop me a mail at the usual address and I'll talk to you about it.

Yes it is Liverpool Street. The Stansted Flyer/Express IIRC.

Very quick and the station at Stansted is right at the terminal.

I did notice that I have to catch a train from Liverpool station. That's probably the easiest Andy. I'm staying at my 'usual' hotel in London right by the Gloucester tube station so it's fairly easy for me to take a tube to Liverpool and catch the train from there. Thank you for your offer though!

Shall I just look for a group of extremely fit men and one woman??

Or a small group of slightly podgy, milky-white blokes in their 40's, stretching in a manic manner at the check-in desk Smile

The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph

I'll no doubt be embarrassing my wife by wearing my vivid yellow Hal Higdon "V-Team" cap.

I'll be able to spot that hat I'm sure.

But I'm confused now - Liverpool Street Station and Liverpool Station are two different places?? I'll look it up in my guide book and make sure I'm going to the right one. Thanks for the tip.

I won't describe myself, but you could look for a fairly petite person - I'll look for the hat.

Suzie, mail me when you get here, or before you leave for that matter, and I'll send you my phone numbers so we can make contact before Saturday.

Liverpool Street Station is in London.

Liverpool Station is in... Liverpool. It's about 250 miles away.

Mind you, that's normal commuting distance for Canadians I suppose. It's the other end of the universe for us.
