yes, Nigel. It has snowed near Almería. Apparently, the weather is going to be better at the weekend.
There has been a latest piece of news. There is going to be a limited number of participants, 1200. http://www.todofondo.com/medioalmeria/
I don´t know if it will be completed for next Saturday when you arrive here. I think there should race numbers left but I´m not sure. According to a newspaper there have been 800 entries so far. Today is the last day to enter online. If you like, you can enter at http://www.todofondo.com/medioalmeria/default.asp
You can pay wth a credit card. It costs 6 euros. If there´s any problem, just tell me here or send me a private message. If you want me to enter you through a bank order, just send me your data.
Hi Antonio - I just registered online, just in case. I had a bit of trouble translating the form. Not sure what my DNI was but I just made up a number and it seemed happy enough. Also, what's "poblacion"?
Anyway, it took my money and sent me an email, so I should be OK. I should think the others will be alright, but suggest that they should perhaps enter online if they get a chance. Babelfish.com may be able to help people as linguistically challenged as me.

Great things are done when men and mountains meet.
Well done, Andy. DNI means Documento Nacional de Identidad = ID. In your case, you should give your passport number, I think. Población means city or town. I noticed that the countries are not in alphabetical order. Gran Bretaña = Great Britain.
I think that there won´t be so many runners but you never know since this is the year of the Mediterranean Games and Heile Gebreselassie is coming. In fact, last year we were around 600. Actually, the limit of entries wasn´t stated in the race rules. It has been a last minute change.
i just had a go at registering online, and gave up. I don't even know what the spanish for 'British' is!
I reckon that if it's only 2/3 full by now, the bulk of the other places will go on the day, so if we register saturday pm that should be ok. Failing that, we'll hope for drop-outs, or just go for a run on our own......or just get stuck in to the wine and sod the run
Incidentally, the appearance of Heile Gebreselassie may well increase the crowds, but would it make a difference to the number of runners?
Don´t worry, Andy SP. I think there won´t be any problem. I told you just in case. By the way, British in Spanish is "Británico" although most people say "Inglés" including all Britons.
Thanks, Antonio - a timely reminder indeed. I've registered.
It's a bit tricky for those without much Spanish, so here's how to do it.
1. On the link page supplied by Antonio, select the first category marked 'General para todos' (for everyone) and then click on the box immediately to the right marked 'YA' (now).
The next page looks like the image I've attached below, showing what you need to fill in, including birth date ('F. Nac.'). Under DNI I've put my passport number, but I think probably a driver's licence number might be acceptable, too.
Don't forget to tick the box just above 'Inscribirse' to say that the details above are OK and that you will pay by credit card. You can uncheck the tick above that one if you don't want to get e-mail.
2. Then it sends you to a payment page, where you fill in your credit card number (without spaces), and expiry ('caducidad') as MO-YR eg 06-09. Then click 'aceptar' (accept).
3. To verify that your entry has been accepted, you can click 'Volver al menú principal' (main menu) and then click 'Comprobación par appelido' (verification by surname). On that page you just fill in your surname and click accordingly, and it will tell you whether your registration has been accepted.
It works well, although at no stage can you use the forward or back commands in Explorer since this will crash your registration request.
I'm assuming we collect our race numbers in Almería, right, Antonio ?
I don´t think the DNI number is important as long as your entry has already been accepted, Andy RC.
Thanks a lot, Nigel. Yes, we can all pick up them at the runners´ fair on Saturday afternoon. Anyway, I´ve got two race numbers left in case they run out on Saturday afternoon.
. . . holy cow. Just got back in from a day in the Smoke. Looks like all hells' broken loose on the Almeira front. Snow, sleet, forms, locusts . . . I'm off to register on-line right away. Thanks for the guide Nigel - I suspect that might save me, ooh, about a day or so!

. . . did all that, ticked the 'terms and conditions' box and got a message up. Clicked OK . . . and the browser closed. Am I in, or should I have gone on to another screen? Sorry, brain burned out from long day trecking around London

Hi Jock McSwede
Let me know if you have problems entering the race.
SP couldn't crack the secret codes, so I've put in an entry for him.
Also for SuzieQ, in case she is reading this.
I can do the same for you if you have trouble.
I'll send you a message with my contact details, in case you need to get in touch, pronto.
Thanks Nigel. I went back and completed the form again, got the dialogue box, clicked 'OK' . . . same result. I'm either in the race 3 times now or just once. Thanks for the help. Incidentally, what should I have seen on screen after completing the form?
