Almería half marathon. 29th January 2006
Great results everyone! Can't wait for the full race report and pics. Not to mention the post-race breaking of the drought.
What would have Sweder run if he hadn't been sick?!

Yes, well and truly busted is the infamous drought.
More on that later; to answer your last question I actually felt great on the day - had the race been 24 hours earlier I'd have been happy to get round at all. I'm still snuffling now, but that's more to do with bumping into hotel room furniture trying to find my clothes in the dark - my eyes have refused to open this morning.
I just hope to God this is my room . . .
The official chip times are published and here's how the record books have it:
Antonio: 2:07:32
Andy: 2:12:26
Sweder: 1:47:59
Niguel, your PB is safe, for a few weeks at least

Following a safe return to Blighty I'm thinking about maybe starting to prepare to make notes about Sunday's race. But I did want to say a couple of 'thank you's before that.
First to Antonio, José and Juan Pedro for their hospitality and tollerence, and to Antonio's colleagues for their valued support on race day.
Next to Andy L who through this site made it all possible . . .
and last but in no way least to the star of the show, SP, who covered a remarkable amount of ground on the day, managed to capture the three RC competitors at various stages of the race and at the finish, and kept a cheerful and supportive countenance throughout.
Thanks everyone.
Now, I'm going back to bed . . .

Hello, amigos
I´m glad you have already arrived in the Uk. It was great to be with you here again.
Best wishes.
Antonio
PS. As soon as I can, I´ll send you yesterday night´s last photos at the National Geographic pub and Bar Ajolí where we had some Rioja wine with a last toast in memory of all the absent forumites who couldn´t come.

Did their chief re-hydration consultant get a mention?

Give the bloke a break! Now that he's no longer running, he's probably really, really busy with his stamp collection or something
