April has kicked off to an appalling start here with foul, miserable, deep-winter weather of the kind that sets you in the mood for nothing but a roaring fire and a glass or three of strong ale or stout.
Fortunate then, that I'm in a non-running R&R period. The only running news is that my shin splints have now finally cleared up due to a complete cessation of running, and this morning I returned to the podiatrist to have my feet caked in plaster for the making of orthotics, the purpose of which is to prevent the accursed shin splints and further degradation of my left knee. In theory at least, it could even help me to run faster. Woo hoo!
Given the lack of running, I've returned to my former past-time of genetically modifying cats - here's a photo of a rather successful attempt to implant the feline structure with Jedi light sabre capabilities...
