Week 7
Friday. As you all probably know a terrible terrorist attacked happened yesterday in Madrid where about two hundred people were killed and many were injured. It was useless as all the terrorist attacks. It´s so sad to think all of us can be a terrorist objective, that all of them probably had expectations for the future, relatives, friends, classmates, work mates, etc who are left without them. Perhaps, there were some of them who were training to run their hometown marathon on 25th April. Well, life must go on. I wish terrorism will disappear one day but I find it difficult. As John Lennon said “Let´s give peace a chance”.

I went for a run this morning although I didn´t feel well either physically or emotionally. I´ve had a backache since Wednesday morning when I got up with big discomfort in my back, which made me walk with difficulty. However, the pain became smaller without having any medicines or physiotherapy. It´s the first time I´ve had a backache. Besides, I still have some discomfort in my right foot sole when I walk or run. I started at 6.40 a.m. The moon was in its half phase. The day was a bit cold and misty at sea in the background. I went slowly from Almadrabillas park along the sea front in 17´15´´ and went on to the dry river until minute 30 when I came back along the same way. In all, I did 60´15´´ and around 8 kilometres.

I saw a few runners and some people walking as a group of four retired men I usually see walking along the sea front and talking about the terrorist attack. That´s the topic in all the conversations in Spain today and yesterday. This evening at seven pm there´s a demonstration in all the cities and towns in Spain. Here in Almería it starts at my usual start and finish line, Almadrabillas park. I´ll be there as many others to protest against such a killing. This morning, at 12 pm, there were 15 minutes of silence in my school playground as in many other places in Spain. It was touching to see about 500 students from 12 to 18 years old, 40 teachers and 5 administrative and caretaking staff in silence for fifteen minutes in solidarity with the victims and against terrorism.
