Whos doing the Dublin Marathon 2007
Well done Liz.
People disagree about when a new runner should think about entering a marathon, but plenty of people do it in their first year. I did, and don't regret it. It was tough but very rewarding, and it got me running regularly, which was one of the objectives.
In your posiiton, the only sensible aim is to finish the race. Don't bother thinking about time targets. Just get round.
As I mentioned before, the important thing is to have some sort of plan. If your long runs are building up each week, you'll be OK. Aim to work up to at least one 20 miler, usually 3 weeks before the race.
