October fest
I've been lurking here for a while guys, but haven't actually logged on for a bit as I have nothing of any worth to say- nothing new there then - but was astounded to find I had to fill out coded messages to log back on. It nearly stunned me back into silence.

So - the running/jogging/shuffling/waddling proceeds incidentally, why are Runners World forumites getting their collective knickers in a twist about the finer points of runing versus jogging? As any race walker knows, if you are judged to have both feet off the ground even momentarily you are deemed to have run and will therefore be disqualified and shot.

My distances are extending slightly, the pace is getting slightly quicker, but so imperceptably that no one other than me would notice.

I have been really enjoying getting out for a four miler at lunchtime, the weather has been absolutely perfect, crisp, sunny and just warm enough for shorts and vest.

I've also been enjoying reading about your new found enthusiasm El G and I adopted your elevating treadmill regime, makes the boring slog on the tready much more bearable.

Didn't get into London on the ballot for 2010, well there's a surprise. I have tried 5 times without success, unfortunately I had a break of a year in between so still won't qualify for a place on the nod next year and I haven't got the energy to get a charity place. If I had secured a ballot place I would of course raise some money for charity, probably our very own JDRF, but there is just too much pressure to pledge to raise such huge amounts in these times of recession it was hard enough in 2006. I will try and get into Brighton when they release the spare places in Novemember, altenatively, I have been checking out the Windermere marathon, lovely location and not as precipitous and you might think. There again, I might just not bother with a marathon at all ever again.

I'd love to go to Almeria or to Ireland for a half marathon, however our very own family recession crisis might just stop me from being able to do either. Things are pretty gloomy here at the moment. I'll keep on running, at least until my trainers wear out.
Phew this is hard work !
