Finally got round to catching up with Sideways on DVD, Sweder.

Excellent film, really enjoyed it. Great writing and acting. Very funny in parts, but with enough poignancy to elevate it above mere comedy and to get you thinking. In this way it reminded me a bit of Withnail And I. Story of an expedition, about close friendship between diverse personalities - one mad, the other conservative. The guy in Sideways waiting to hear whether his book will be published; the actor in Withnail waiting to hear about getting to play Hamlet.

And it made the wine I was drinking taste even better...

Really recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
