Never mind all that . . . just saw the trailer for '300'

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite. It's a bit like Butch and Sundance in loincloths. Er, and without guns.

Described by those who know as 'shallow as a pygmy's paddling pool' and a triumph for style over substance the early rushes are mouth-watering. At least it's set fair to dance on the grave of the well-below-par Achillies, not to mention grind out it's monstrous cigar-stub of a CGI budget on the hideous clusterf*ck we shiveringly remember as Alexander.
