I did a 2 mile warm-up, then we were delayed on the start line for about 10 minutes wearing just shorts and vest then 400m into the race my left calf started to hurt and I had to drop out by 800m.

Rested for a couple of days then tried to run on it yesterday and only managed 1.5 miles before it was really stiff again. Decided to switch to walking to see how that was and it seemed fine to walk on. Ended up doing 8.7 miles speed walking in Stanmer Park in 1hr 53 mins.

Calf feeling much better today but will have a week or so off running. Will have a go at walking round the parkrun on Saturday. Glutes are really sore today from the walking excerise - must be a good excerise to trim down the bottom and hips.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that, LR. If you've no history of injury in that area, you should be OK with a bit of rest. You'll know what to do. Get well soon!
