Terrific to get these updates fellas. I'm stuffing myself silly in a Tuscan eatery, sucking down world-class Chianti in honour of The Man, desperate for news. Sport in the raw; great stuff!

Go El Gordo!

Oh god it's like that moment during Apollo 13 when the capsule goes behind the moon. Mission Control loses contact, the world holds it's breath . . .

Don't wish to jinx things, but looking damn good for a PB unless the wheels really come off.

Having said that, 30K is where the hills start, isn't it?

Re-entering Earth's atmosphere . . . another horribly tricky stage. No visual contact, awaiting first crackle from intercom, followers huddled 'round the wireless . . . or in my case iPhone with appalling connection in deepest Italian rural backwater

Still, come on EG! Less than a mile and a half to go, and still a great time in the offing...

Eight weeks ago Boston was the impossible dream.
A finish on 2 legs of any sort would be a triumph unrivalled in these hallowed halls. He'll do it, if he has to cuss, fight and drag himself over that blasted line.
