Medio Maraton XXI Almeria 2018

Regrettably, not me this time. Unless ... unless ...wait, what's that?! Over there in the corner...?!

No, no, it was just a delusional dream... I won't be there.

Tricky one this.   The 4th February falls just before a weeks skiing in the French Alps, and then a fast and furious week long trip to Australia less than 4 days after the skiing.   I am not sure I can justify 3 or 4 days in beautiful Almeria as well.  

We'll see.

Thank you very much, S., for starting this thread on another half marathon in Almería. Time goes by so quickly. This will be the 21st edition and thirteen years will have passed since five people from the UK and Canada came to take part in this small half marathon and M who came with El Gordo and cheered us and took photos at La Rambla.

This year I promise I'll take it easy from the start without any aim to do the half under two hours and try to finish without much pain or an injury and enjoying the company and the race.

I'm very glad you'll be able to come and take part in your twelfth race here, S. I'm sorry you can't come again, MLCMM, although I understand it. We'll miss you. I'd love you to manage to come, Charliecat5, although I undestand it could mean travelling so much in such little time.

Now all booked. 7:20 Gatwick flight out Sat am. Back Tues 11:50 or so.

Also c £55 per night with breakfast at NH Ciudad ...

Now all I have to do is train a bit better so I don't die at the end

I hope you are well.

I noticed that the date for Almeria has just been announced. I booked my flight and hotel and then announced my intention to my running club. I think about 15/20 of them booked yesterday so I hope to see you there. Or more likely at Gatwick on the Saturday morning.

I remember Steve. One year he came with two other colleagues from work, I think.

Apparently the British participation is going to be quite high this year.

Looking forward to meeting Steve and his running club mates in February as well.

Entries are already open for the half marathon and the 9K. This year the fee will be different depending on the date you enter. If you enter before 17th December it will be 12 € + 3 € for the one day athletics licence fee that includes the race insurance + 1 optional € if you want to give it to the Duchenne association. If you enter the 9 K it will be 10 € + 1 optional € for the Duchenne association.

If you have any problem when entering, just tell me. Remember "Nombre" = First Name and "Apellidos" = Surname.

My knee is feeling really good Antonio.  I’m only running short distances right now, but mainly because I’m so busy hiking, kayaking, Pickleball, etc.  Will start running further soon as I do miss running long.

I'm glad your knee is all right, Suzie. It's great you are practising so many sports. That's good to use more muscles and avoid injuries.
