Hi Ash
Chris and I are all paid up for this little jaunt. Chris had offered to pick me up on his way (Hi Chris) but has been a tad incommunicado since the funky fish night, the mother of all hangovers?
On bank holiday Monday I ran the wire'n back With Mike - a rabbit running with a hare - he was interested also. On our run he very galliantly ran back to join me after a couple of the longer hills. In celebration of this run,

There was a runner called Mike
Across the Downs to run, he did like
We ran to the wire
He ran like he was on fire
Next time I'll be taking my bike Big Grin

I'm definitely going and I've the gels to prove it. Where shall we meet?

Hi Rog - nice limerick Big Grin

I've not entered the race yet, though I understand I may do so on the day.
Training has been dodgy at best, but that hasn't stopped me before. It seems there are very few takers (one) for a regular plod so I amy as well chug over to Seaford. I've not done the race before but if you're sporting your usual sedate and understated running cloth I'm sure I'll find you Wink

I'm off to check the website to be absolutely sure I can still get in . . .

Hiya all

Anyone up for this, I've run around this reservoir before and its a lovely run.

Check links

7th Bewl 15

Online entries

Bonus is, it starts/finishes opposite a pub - Ash/Rog

It will break up the same runs over the downs and keep us race sharp.

Anyone with other race suggestions through the summer ?

Sadly I've been through my diary and can find absolutely nothing to stop me taking part, so looks like I'll be in for this one. Hopefully this'll be the day after England v Holland (provided Holland beat Portugal in the second round . . .) in the quarter final in Gelsenkirchen. If things don't go according to plan in group B it could be two days after Argentian v England in Berlin or, God forbid, we just won't care by then . . .

Eek Eek Eek

OK, forget the football for a moment.
Either way, I'm in - I've downloaded the form already.

Good man Ash,

Come on fellow JSJs - lets get a group together.

I have now entered online. A cinch and a bargain £8.

Theres no real hills, just trails and some road - so could be a good, fastish plod.

Hope to hear some other enthusiastic noise.

Hooray for the Bewl Two!
Chris and I survived the gruelling heat today and ran the exceptionally beautiful 15 miles around the Bewl reservoir. Believe me there's hot and then there's hotter, this was hottest (29C). Now I have always preferred wet and windy and this run only confirmed my preference. Chris told me there were no hills - liar. To be fair compared to what we are all used to, the hills are minor, they just seemed steeper, longer and more punishing today. I walked a bit. Eek The organisation was excellent, the cakes at the end particularly scrummy. We met some old friends including the Irish lad from our hotel in Paris - from the marathon this April. He and his wife with baby where marshalls.
We ran together for a couple of miles and then Chris vaulting a fence was off finishing a good 10 mins before me (around the 2:15 mark) but hey Chris you owe me that and more in years.
A good day by all accounts and a medal to boot.

Ash now the footies over perhaps you'll get your r's back into gear!

cheers rog

I'm working on it Rog . . . gotta lotta excess to shift in the next few weeks, but I'm back out there. Like you I don't embrace the furnace conditions so planning to run early doors or last orders this week.

Well done to the Bewl two!

I'll be there. Need to keep the 2 hour runs going.
Planning the Windmill 15 on the 23rd July - 8:30am start - £15 on the day entry, to those interested.
Also Jog shop jog - Mid October and Beachy Head Marathon @ the end of October.

So a busy schedule, I'll be there virtually every Sunday - so don't panic Gary - you will not be alone.

Check this link for forthcoming races, might whet appetites.

It would be nice to get a team of plodders together for the weakest link relay on the 19th. - Rog, Ash, me and one other. Let me know guys if you're about.

Cheers for now MM :o

. . . you did mention the 'weakest link', so I'll be along on Sunday.
Not terribly sure how far I'll be keeping up with you fit buggers but I'll give it a whirl. Be nice to see you old scroats again after a month away Big Grin
