Yep I think jelly babies are the way to go - a couple of chews and they're down. 1-2 of them per mile, washed down with a bit of water, should be enough to replace the carbs you're burning. I will be hitting jelly baby distance soon so will recheck the science of how many I need to eat. Great news that you banked the 8+ miles, sounds like the run / walk strategy is working!
