Mountain and trail running events are very photogenic but the photographer needs to be pretty athletic in the first place to get the best shots from a variety of vantage points. I think the photos above were taken by an American who accompanied Big Jim Walmsley, “El Chulo” from Arizona who won the main race.  
 
I’d recommend you to take a look at this guy’s portfolio too. Ian Corless is an accomplished runner/photographer who travels the world covering many of the big off road events.
