Lewes is due for several days of heavy rain. The trail to Blackcap is likely to be slick, muddy, studded with slippery flint and slimy tree-roots. It'll sap any strength you might accrue from those lazy legs and burn fresh lard like lambsflesh in a county brasier.

I can't be doing with these steamy summer days (remember those?). The running classes need mud and rain, and a bone-rattling chill. Long wet grass and nettles are over-rated. But the rest of it sounds acceptable.

The toe feels good this morning. The nasal passages much clearer. I'll see how things shape up later. But things are already looking up.
