Top 10 Race Reporters
Archive curated by Marathondan. Please PM me with any corrections, or to fill in unknowns. Many dates are approximate, as the actual race date wasn't reported. Please don't be shy, I'm happy to correct all errors: RE: The RunningCommentary Race Report Archive - glaconman - 10-11-2014 Dan, that's a great effort. Thank you for this. No wonder I need a nap in the afternoon these days. We've been quite busy over the years. RE: - Mid Life Crisis Marathon Man - 11-11-2014 Wow, that's quite a list. Thanks, Dan! RE: - Seafront Plodder - 11-11-2014 Great work Dan, even some of mine on there. RE: The RunningCommentary Race Report Archive - Antonio247 - 12-11-2014 A bigger effort than running a marathon, Dan! It's motivating to see how many different races we have taken part in and to go on participating in races and writing a report in this forum. Thanks a lot. Muchas gracias. Saludos desde Almería RE: - Bierzo Baggie - 12-11-2014 That's just excellent Dan, I mean really excellent. Ready made links to some great reading, just what we needed! Point to Pinnacle, all the Almerias, the Londons, Zurich, Bombay .... You are a man with a most excellent plan! RE: - Sweder - 17-11-2014 Top work, mate, well done! 156 and 157 are duplicate Moyleman reports - one posted on the 'other' RC site, one here. I spotted it as I'm pretty sure I've only competed the once (in 2006) 172 is the Brighton Half Marathon RE: The RunningCommentary Race Report Archive - marathondan - 17-11-2014 (17-11-2014, 06:34 PM)Sweder Wrote: Top work, mate, well done! Ready made links to some great reading, just what we needed! I loved finding the same races recurring year after year. I'm now much more familiar with the Ponferrada Without My Car 10K than I was a couple of weeks ago. And I hadn't realised how many times MLCMM has done P2P! RE: The RunningCommentary Race Report Archive - El Gordo - 18-11-2014 Do you have any vacancies at your place, Dan? RE: - Sweder - 18-11-2014 This archive should be given it's own thread and locked somehow. Invaluable for cross-referencing and for those of us resting on wilted laurels, in need of inspiration. The staff internet usage policy compliance department is somewhat under-resourced, if that's what you mean... But no, the only major vacancy is in my soul... All the data for the archive is stored in a spreadsheet (of course), so if when new reports are written, I will add them to the spreadsheet and then update the first two posts in this thread. (I tried to put them all in one post, but apparently there is a maximum post length. Maybe Sweder is the only user who already knew this...?) So as long as no-one tries to edit the first two posts, feel free to post whatever you like below. I think the setup is OK as it is. (But if anyone can suggest how better to present the archive, fire away.) RE: - Sweder - 18-11-2014 That's interesting ... I assumed posts were limited by word-count, not physical length. Although TOM was serialised, written & posted over two weeks, it could never be posted in one chunk. I think this works well for the reader, offering timely breaks on the longer journey RE: The RunningCommentary Race Report Archive - marathondan - 23-11-2014 (18-11-2014, 04:54 PM)Sweder Wrote: That's interesting ... There is something sinister and surreal about that comment. And it still works as well! Big ups to EG. RE: The RunningCommentary Race Report Archive - marathondan - 19-01-2015 The first new report for 6 months - thanks Sweder! RE: The RunningCommentary Race Report Archive - marathondan - 10-06-2015 Time for a quick update, as Glaconman has been putting us all to shame. He's closing in on the mighty Sweder in the leaderboard, and as a community we are nearing the 400 mark for race reports. It must be said, however, that GM's race reports are just a tad more concise than Sweder's. The reader can judge whether that's a good or a bad thing. |
