Knee, Jogging & Walk
My weight is 200 LBS and I am a bodybuilder for 9 years and
I use to go jogging once a week for 8 KM.
I have found that when I increase the distance that I run,
I could lift more weight, so I continue increasing my
jogging distance up to 20 KM.
- Since I am increasing the distance, will this harm my knee
in the future?
- If instead of jogging, I will go for brisk walking, will I
get the same result?
- Are there any specific types of food that can protect & support the knee? I use to take soup made from goat knee and I believe it’s full with protein, does this help?

Thank you.

I can't answer your questions, I'm afraid, zainiaa, but with your permission, I would like to nominate goat knee soup as the RunningCommentary Dish Of The Month.

Where did you get your supply from?

Welcome to the website. You're just the sort of fellow (?) we like around here.

It's a good job the problem's not in the groin really.
I'm not entirely sure but I believe goat-knee soup may produce excess flatulence.
So, as usual, it's swings and round-a-bouts with this one.

Perhaps a better solution would be a chat with a physio.
Knees don't like running, and if you have a history of knee trouble there are a number of strengthening exercises you can do that will allow you to increase your mileage (or kilometerage Sad?). Best of luck.

But I do recall a 70's reggae track about goat food. Eek

Anyone else recall this? It's by Pluto Shervington...

Ram Goat Liver

"Sunday gone I jump on a mini bus
I really late but it's not my fault
And when we nearly reach by the terminus
I feel de bus come to a halt

Ee lick a ram goat down a de round-about
but just as if that could not suffice
A bredda run through the bus and start to shout
You shoulda dead mek we buy a pound a rice

Ram goat liver good fi mek mannish water
Billy goat teeth mek the earring for you daughter
Curried goat lunch put de bite in your bark
It mek you daughter ... It mek you daughter walk and talk

Well the news spread fast like a telegram
Nobody know whey de goat come from
We raise a pot and a pan from an I-aman
Who sit down dey all along

Two twos and the pot a boil
A head a yam and banana tip
Meanwhile quarters a gwan
Lick me goat and a meeeh tek me sip

Ram goat liver good fi mek mannish water
Billy goat teeth mek the earring for you daughter
Curried goat lunch put de bite in your bark
It mek you daughter ... It mek you daughter walk and talk

Well I pop two belch and never sighed
I tek a walk go outta street
But while I waitin down de road fi bum a ride
I feel a gripe and start I feel very weak

Before too long you no ha fi ask
A runny belly like a judgement day
A everybody in the road a dead wid laugh
Its then I know that crime will never pay

Ram goat liver good fi mek mannish water
Billy goat teeth mek the earring for you daughter
Curried goat lunch put de bite in your bark
It mek you daughter ... It mek you daughter walk and talk"

There was that Stones' LP "Goats Head Soup" from 1973

Haven't seen many goats knees, but there is always cow heels or pigs trotters that may perhaps make a palatable substitute?

Then there were the classics like
'Goat you want me' by the Human League,
'Goat to get you into my life' and
'Billy, Goat be a hero' by Paper Lace.

er . . . that's enough bad goat jokes Ed

I just contacted Ellen MacArthur and asked if she wanted to take part in the Round the world Goat race next year. Just trying to tie a few threads together.

Hey Zainiaa, you still out there man?
