Here's an update from the New York City Marathon. You all might actually be getting TV coverage of the race but just in case you're not: "Update Ten, 10:49 a.m.: The women are climbing the Pulaski Bridge, where the halfway mark is located. The incline is breaking the pack up. Malot, the pacemaker, has dropped off. It looks like Radcliffe has blown the pack apart now; only Loroupe and Kiplagat are hanging on. Chepkemei is tailing those three."

Its getting fairly warm so its still a race at this point, but Paula looks to be in control.

Thanks Rick, but yes, we are watching it on TV.

Paula one of the knot of 3, with about 8 miles to go. The crowd support looks good.

Looks like it's going to be an exciting finish, with just 2 of them left, but Paula isn't great in these situations, so I'd guess it might be 2nd place for her.

I figured the UK would have coverage. This just goes to show what a sorry state the US is in. We can't even get coverage of a marathon in our own country! Sheeesh! I blame stupid ol' George W!

I tried following as best I could on the marathon site. They said they were neck and neck with a mile to go and they were both hammering away, neither one yielding to the other's surges. Sounds like it was a truly splendid race! Congratulations, Paula!

What a fantastic finish for Paula. Makes my 1 hour 38 min 10 miles look pretty pathetic! Wonder how Andy's doing!

If you go to the marathon website it has a tracker option so you can view how everyone is done or getting on.

Are you a New Yorker?

LOL!

Oh well, Sawbridgeworth and New York. Easily confused.

Yes, I hear thousands of runners turn up in Sawbrigeworth every Novemeber, thinking that's where the New York marathon is held.

Why, marcymarc24, do you say you unfortunately live in Sawbridgeworth?
Run. Just run.

Yes, I've had some first class eccles cakes from that bakers.

Beckingham Palace is in Sawbridgeworth, which is probably a minus point anyway.

The pubs are good.

It has some good hills for running up.

....Errm, I'm struggling now.
