Most excellent report - I have a tear in my eye and an even greater personal resolve to try and get in again next year.

Beautiful report, S. I´m glad you felt so well in spite of having suffered some injuries while training for this marathon.

Enjoy a well deserved rest!

Congratulations, S.

Thank you Antonio, I'll happily take your advice.
I'm going to add my support to Andy's Hamburg mission this week. This man has been tearing up his own personal record books all year, and I sincerely hope the fates conspire to give him the run of his life on Sunday.

Thanks mate.

I just reread the Julie Welch piece on the London Marathon. If you've never read it, or not read it in a while, treat yourself:

You have to run the Marathon to know what it does to you, to understand why your eyes fill up as you pass over Tower Bridge into a city free of cars, to experience – and I don't say this lightly – the almost suicidal desolation of dragging yourself from Mile 22 to Mile 24, and the sweetness of deliverance when you cross the finish line...

Never a truer word.

Well done Sweder on a great run. From how your training was going in the last month it's not surprisint that you went so well. A great report aswell. I'm glad that so many of your running group have just completed their marathons aswell. It's important to share the experience, something virtually impossible to do with non-runners. I'm sure that between you all, you'll find a few good reasons to slip on the running shoes this Summer.
Enjoy the rest.

Got my CD from ActionPhoto.
That saying, that if you want to know what you'll look like in ten years, look at a picture of yourself right after a marathon . . . bang on!

Here's me at around 8 miles. This is a trimmed shot - the main photo is way too big to load, sadly.
