Back in the saddle.
Refreshed by a 3 week rest, and somewhat envious of tales of a certain marathon I was back out slapping the streets yesterday.
Just 3 miles, but in 29 minutes and it felt easy, almost as if I hadn't had time off. I passed a lot of runners out there, including a tasty lady in lycra running with her hound, who I even managed to run and chat with for a while, (the lady not the dog).
The rest of the time I tried to look like I was on a recovery run in the vain hope that fellow runners might think I'd just completed the FLM. Some hope, but it's good to be out there again.
Hell I may even do it again.

Back in the saddle.
Funnily enough Mrs SP mentioned this yesterday, as being the only race where she's likely to turn out to cheer me on!
I'd have to train a bit for it, do you have the link Sweder?

Back in the saddle.
Not to hand - google should throw it up though.
I think its via the NCS Lions website - I believe you know them as they were involved in sponsoring you for New York.

Back in the saddle.
Out again yesterday, running into the setting sun watching the ferry coming back from Dieppe. 3.5 miles while I pondered whether I should build up to do the Seaford 1/2 marathon, (95% off road ) in 7 weeks time.
As easy lope in 33 minutes, it's coming back......slowly.

Back in the saddle.
If you fancy a gentle (I mean, very gentle) offroad flat(ish) lope on the weekend let me know. Sat or Sun morning I will get a recovery run in from the Marina towards Saltdean. NOT up the Tye, just along the seafront. End up in the cafe on the Marina for a cuppa. Game? You can test your offroad legs and cough up my sponsorship at the same time . . .
