A gap has opened up in my hectic training schedule (what schedule ... ?) in Guildford at 7pm on Tuesday 31st May.
I'm pleased to propose a gentle 7 miler, with a choice of itineraries offering picturesque riverbank or Downs depending on customer uptake, aspirations and aptitude. Geological and socio-historical overviews provided for the breathless and intellectually masochistic.
Start at Guildford station, returning to (or staying within) pub at 5 mins walk distance. Optional descent on adjacent curry outlet for refuelling afterwards. Perfect pre-Seaford or Loch Ness training.
It's certainly tempting. Work permitting, I'll try to make it. My only slight reservation is that I'd planned to do the Yateley 10K the following evening - but I don't suppose that's a major objection. A formidable athlete like me should be able to do a 7 and a 6 in successive evenings.
If I can get there (work-wise), count me in.
El Gordo
Great things are done when men and mountains meet.
Just to confirm that this event is going ahead - meet 7pm on the steps of the White House pub, five minutes from the station and next to the main Town Bridge over the River Wey in Guildford (see map).
All are welcome, and the plan is to run an easy seven miles, followed by refreshments and a curry for those interested.
