....and the storks of El Bierzo brought little Lara two weeks late on the first day of May which funnily enough was Mother’s Day over here. The birth was a tough one. Tougher than the marathon of Toral de los Vados. Tougher than the Zegama-Aizkorri mountain marathon even. But Lara eventually made her appearance weighing in at 3kgs, 50cms in height and with long triple jumper’s legs and big feet....and suddenly everything else pales into insignificance...

Felicitaciones... congratulations to both of you. How's it feel to be a doting dad then? You see though, there's a danger living in a place with so many storks. Nobody'll forget her bithday either.
