The weight is over....

I've had a bad week. 3 'social engagements' mean that I'm only just ahead of my cumulative target. Supposed to be 219.4 lbs; actual for last week: 219. Still lost about a pound but the rate is slowing down.

Figures:
Week 1, ave weight: 228.2 pounds
Week 2, ave weight: 224.0 pounds (-4.2lbs, -1.9kg)
Week 3, ave weight: 221.7 pounds (-2.3lbs, -1.0kg)
Week 4, ave weight: 219.9 pounds (-1.8lbs, -0.8kg)
Week 5, ave weight: 219.0 pounds (-0.9lbs)

Well done, Andy. Bearing in mind that you have had a lot of "social engagements" and you haven´t managed to go for a run much, it is great to have lost nearly a pound.

Best of luck!

When I gather up all my bile. I get so pissed off with these bastards. They admitted to me that the Forerunner 305 doesn't actually work very well, and certainly not as advertised. When I asked if I could quote them, they of course started rowing back from what they'd already said. In short, the altitude feature is totally useless, the calorie measurement doesn't work, and various features like virtual partner and the HR zone alarms are acknowledged to be implemented less well than on previous models. In short, it's an overpriced heap of shite, and I'm so angry with them, and others who promise one thing and deliver another. I can understand people and companies making customer service mistakes -- the law of averages says that logistics won't always work as planned, or people will misinterpret instructions. But it's when they try to defend their uselessness and cover up product defects that I get fed up. Don't get me started on Carphone Warehouse.

Eh? Did someone mention Carphone Warehouse? Now they really ARE a bunch of tossers, let me tell you about........

Now don't hold back Andy, tell us what you really think ... and remember, there's nothing quite so effective as a good bit of primal therapy.

Failing that, you could always go for a jolly nice run somewhere and get it all out of your system ... er, so long as you don't take that thing that can't be mentioned with you.

... or run anywhere near a Carphone Warehouse outlet...

... umm, maybe you should just stay at home and watching the crick...

... heck, maybe just nip down to the pub, eh?
Run. Just run.

I have gained half a kilo this week. My weight is 82 kg. Although I´ve tried to follow a healthy diet, I´ve had too many days off, from Wednesday to Sunday, since 6th December is Constitution day and 8th December Immaculate Conception day. Therefore, we´ve had five days without going to work, which means more time to nibble between meals. Besides, I reduced my running days and mileage. I went for a run four days doing 6,7, 6 and 7 kilometres each day. In all, 26 km and 171 minutes.

6th November 2006 87 kg
13th November 2006 85 kg 37 km
20th November 2006 83,8 kg 27 km
27th November 2006 82,8 kg 43 km
4th December 2006 81,5 kg 38 km
11th December 2006 82 kg 26 km

My aim for this week is to lose half a kilo.

Good luck!

Hi Antonio

That makes me feel better. I also had a bad week. My average weight was 0.8kg more than the previous week. I also have some excellent excuses, but it comes down to too much socialising, not enough running.

Figures:
Week 1, ave weight: 228.2 pounds
Week 2, ave weight: 224.0 pounds (-4.2lbs, -1.9kg)
Week 3, ave weight: 221.7 pounds (-2.3lbs, -1.0kg)
Week 4, ave weight: 219.9 pounds (-1.8lbs, -0.8kg)
Week 5, ave weight: 219.0 pounds (-0.9lbs, -0.4kg)
Week 6, ave weight: 220.8 pounds (+1.8lbs, +0.8kg)

This week is looking better.

It's a difficult week for me, too, although perhaps not as much so as for Alan Pardew at West Ham.

Having hit my all-time top weight of 94kg just a week before London last April, it was a real relief to get down to 90kg by August. I settled around 88kg for most of the autumn but a combination of enthusiastic lager-testing and an increasing affinity for the chocolate bar machine at work saw me shockingly back to 90kg last weekend. I've eaten little since.

Meanwhile, I'm running a trade show this week so have had to supplement my lean diet with those all too familiar treats of Stella Artois and canapes, followed by nothing but paracetamol for pudding. There is no running in sight this week, I'm afraid as well.

It isn't quite the road to hell, but it's not exactly the path to personal redemption, either.
That's the trouble with clean living - the occasional lapses are just too bloody enjoyable, and nowhere near as occasional as they should be ...

90 kilos???
Oh, how I'd love to get below 90 kilos. I returned from the Cape sporting an additional half kilo of excess and see no real chance to shift it any time soon. Last count: 91.2 kilos Sad

91? How I envy you....

Me? 97.5 this morning.

Though seriously Sweder, 91 is more than I'd have thought. That's 202 lbs, about what I was in Zurich.

A better week, with a drop of 2.6 lbs. If last week hadn't happened, I'd be still on schedule. I just have to ensure that, er, that I don't eat or drink excessively during Christmas week.....

Week 2, ave weight: 224.0 pounds (-4.2 lbs, -1.9 kg)

I´ve lost the half a kilo that I had gained the previous week. I´ve tried to eat healthier food and I went for a run four days doing 5, 10, 7 and 7 km each day. In all, 29 km and 200 minutes. These days I have many temptations with “turrón” ( Spanish nougat ), “mantecados”, etc. Anyway, my aim for this week is to lose another half a kilo.
Congratulations, Andy. Best of luck!

Well done, Antonio. Don't beat yourself up over the next week. Make sure you eat a few churros with extra chocolate every morning.

I´ve lost one more kilo in spite of some heavy meals. I went for a run four days doing 8, 6, 16 and 8 kilometres. In all, 38 kms and 238 minutes. My aim for this week is to reach 79,9 kilos. It is going to be difficult because on holidays, I usually eat more and there are so many sweet things around that the temptation is huge but I´ll do my best to go on eating healthy food and doing exercise.

6th November 2006 87 kg
13th November 2006 85 kg 37 km
20th November 2006 83,8 kg 27 km
27th November 2006 82,8 kg 43 km
4th December 2006 81,5 kg 38 km
11th December 2006 82 kg 26 km
18th December 2006 81,5 kg 29 km
25th December 2006 80,5 38 km

I wish all of you a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful year 2007.

It would be really very sad if this website disappeared. I´d miss so many stories about running and other topics. I´d also miss the people who share them with us.

I wish you all a very happy year 2007.
